Why are there rate adjustments for KLOAD?
Based on the rules of the Energy Regulatory Commission, the initial rate applied prepaid customers is the price per kWh for the 201 - 300 kWh consumption bracket. This is the rate reflected in the daily balance notification you receive.
The correct rate we should charge prepaid customers should be the rate applicable to the total actual consumption for one month. If this higher or lower than the 201 – 300 kWh bracket, the rate to be applied may also be higher or lower.
The difference is applied to the account of prepaid customers as a rate adjustment and they are informed about it via SMS.
Sample computation if total consumption for the month is lower than 200 kWh:
Total consumption for 1 month | 120 kWh |
Initial rate charged to Kload customers: rate for the 201 – 300 kWh bracket | ₱ 12.00/kWh* |
Total load deducted from your account | ₱1,440 |
Rate that should be charged | ₱11.50 |
Total amount that you should pay | ₱1,380 |
Adjustment | ₱1,440 - ₱1,380 = ₱60
₱60 pesos will be credited to your account and you will be notified via SMS |
Sample computation if total consumption for the month is higher than 200 kWh:
Total consumption for 1 month | 420 kWh |
Initial rate charged to Kload customers: rate for the 201 – 300 kWh bracket | ₱ 12.00/kWh* |
Total load deducted from your account | ₱5,040 |
Rate that should be charged | ₱12.50 |
Total amount that you should pay | ₱5,250 |
Adjustment | ₱5,250 - ₱5,040 = ₱210 ₱210 pesos will be deducted from your account and you will be notified via SMS |
