Below are answers to common questions about the ERC advisory on the suspension of disconnection and installment payment option for May to July 2026 bills.
Who is covered by this advisory?
The suspension of disconnection applies to May, June and July 2026 service bills of all captive customers. The 3-month installment payment applies to May, June and July 2026 service bills of customers with consumption of 200kWh and below.
Which bills are covered by the ERC advisory?
The advisory applies only to service bills dated May to July 2026.
Why is this being implemented?
This is being implemented to provide temporary relief to customers who are burdened with high electricity rates as a result of the global energy crisis.
Is this automatic or do I need to apply?
Suspension of disconnection is automatic for all customers. But to avail of 3-months installment payment, you may request for it via:
- Email: customercare@meralco.com.ph
- Facebook Messenger: Meralco official page
- 24/7 Hotline: (02) 16211
- Any Meralco Business Center
How will this affect my bill?
This will not change the total amount of your bill. The suspension of disconnection means that services will not be disconnected even if there are unpaid balances for May, June, and July 2026 service bills. For the 3-month installment option, the bill amount will be divided into three monthly payments to help make payment more manageable.
I requested for installment but was not allowed to avail. Why?
The 3-month installment payment only applies to May, June, and July 2026 service bills of customers with monthly consumption of 200 kWh and below. If your consumption is above 200 kWh, or if your unpaid bill is dated April 2026 or earlier period, you may not qualify for the installment payment option. Customers with consumption above 200 kWh may coordinate with Meralco for available payment arrangements. You can find your monthly kWh consumption in the upper left portion of your bill.
I have overdue bills from April 2026 or earlier, are these covered by the suspension of disconnection and the installment payment option?
The ERC advisory applies only to service bills dated May to July 2026. Bills dated April 2026 or earlier are not covered by the ERC advisory.
I thought disconnection is suspended. Why did I receive a disconnection notice?
If you have unpaid service bills dated April 2026 or earlier, your service may still be subject to disconnection. The suspension of disconnection applies only to service bills dated May to July 2026.
How do I know if I am eligible to avail of up to 3 months installment payment?
You may qualify for the 3-month installment payment if your monthly consumption is 200 kWh and below, for your May to July 2026 service bills. You can check your monthly kWh consumption in the upper left portion of your bill.
My May bill is 200 kWh or below, but my June/July bill is above 200 kWh (or vice versa), can I avail of 3 months installment payment for all bills?
You may qualify for the 3-month installment payment for your May bill since consumption is 200 kWh and below. However, if your June or July bill is above 200 kWh, those bills may not qualify for the installment payment option. But you may still reach out to us for available payment arrangements.
